This position serves as the Administrator and Senior Analyst for the Trauma Registry. The Arkansas Trauma Registry is a statewide trauma data collection and evaluation system (ref. ACT 559, The Trauma System ACT, Section 6a). The purpose of the Arkansas Trauma Registry is to obtain, code, and sort information for analysis; and to report individual and aggregate data results. The trauma registry data are used for performance improvement, medical research, statistical analysis, critical pathways, care coordination, epidemiological studies and research. This position oversees and monitors trauma registry operations including assuring registry upgrades and modifications are tested and completed within specified timeframes, assuring data quality and providing the necessary data or reports needed by researchers and the ADH physicians and epidemiologists to make decisions effecting the public health, welfare and safety of our citizens.
The formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field; plus five years of experience in information systems support, including one year in a supervisory capacity. OR Completion of technical training in computer science, data processing, or a related field acquired from a vocational, military or industrial setting; plus five years of experience in information systems support, including one year in a supervisory capacity. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
Experience working with Trauma Registries as well as with analyzing data utilizing SAS. Prefer a Masters Degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Statistics or Epidemiology.
Starting Salary: $64,445
