The Manager of Trauma Services plans, organizes and implements continuity of trauma patient care, trauma research and trauma follow-up. Works to coordinate and evaluate the provision of trauma care in a Level I Trauma Center while maintaining IDPH standards and The American College of Surgeons (ACS) Level II Trauma Designation. Responsible for oversight of planning, organizing and supervising the delivery of burn patient care. Serves as liaison between trauma services and other hospital departments. Serves as a regional liaison with IDPH for QI activities related to Trauma and Burn Quality Care. Develops and revises policies, procedures, and protocols of Trauma Services. Fosters and maintains positive working relationships among affiliated Region hospitals, pre-hospital personnel, physicians, Medical Center personnel and external agencies. Works closely with the Disaster Program Coordinator with community trauma activities Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served. Responsible for developing budgets, business plans, educational program, policies and procedures in accordance with Medical Center and regulatory requirements.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BSN 4 years� direct nursing experience as a trauma care provider either in the ER, ICU or pre-hospital (EMT-P, CC Medic, Flight, etc) Current Illinois RN License PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: MSN, Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC), Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP), Emergency Communications Registered Nurse (ECRN), Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) Previous supervisory experience.
