1. Assist Chair of Surgery to monitor compliance with Hospital and Departmental Quality Improvement plan to ensure compliance with its goals and mission. 2. Assist in developing strategies for continuing development of surgical quality assurance activities. 3. Concurrent review of all trauma cases to identify quality, timeliness and system issues in the care of trauma patients in order to meet regulatory compliance, state and national standards, departmental needs and administrative agenda. 4. Serve as a liaison and collaborate with all departments involved in care of trauma/surgical patients 6. Monitor sentinel events, deaths, transfers, complications, length of stay, adherence to protocol, standards and benchmarks. 7. Provide analytical support to surgery leadership through trend analysis and data reports. 8. Collaboratively develop reports, agendas and presentations for trauma/surgery performance committee meetings, trauma/surgery PI, and quality committee as assigned. 9. Maintain outcomes database with support from TPM, TMD and Chair of Surgery. 10. Facilitate resolution and loop closure of systems problems and monitor for reoccurrences in direct collaboration with TMD/Chair of Surgery, TPM and TR.
