The Trauma Program Manager maintains accountability for coordinating the care of trauma patients in order to ensure an organized, multidisciplinary approach for management of quality patient care both internally and externally in a trauma care system consistent with the criteria outlined in the most current addition of the American College Surgeons (ACS) “Resources for Optimal Care of the Injured Patient”.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
Minimum of five (5) years nursing experience in the care of trauma patients. Advanced skills in critical care nursing required
A high level of interpersonal skills required in order to coordinate care provided by multiple services
Visual, hearing, and verbal abilities required in order to provide patient care, instruct personnel, and maintain records. Ability to work effectively and efficiently under tight deadlines, high volumes and multiple interruptions; prolonged periods of mental concentration
Analytical ability required in order to evaluate the quality of care provided to trauma patients
Ability to maintain flexible working hours

Current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License

Master’s Degree in nursing, business, or related field
Pertinent certifications related to the care of trauma patients strongly preferred (TNCC, ENPC, ATCN, etc…)
Management experience with background in budget oversight strongly recommended
