The Trauma Registrar is accountable for organizing and maintaining a current log of trauma patients. The registrar is also held accountable for the data entry, report generation and coordinating the ORMC Trauma Registry and the Utah State Trauma Registry.
Coordinates the activities of the trauma registry to include chart requisition and review.
Documents identification, data collection, and data entry of information for trauma patients.
Collects demographics characteristics, history of injuries, diagnostic procedures, diagnosis and other related information from the patient’s medical record.
Assists with the quality control of trauma identification, abstracting, coding and data processing, procedures and audits of quality control.
Attends to other duties as assigned by the Trauma Coordinator/Director.
Experience: 2-5 years of clerical experience in a hospital or medical setting
Knowledge of ISC-90 coding and ICD10 and CPT
Knowledge of Medical Terminology and Anatomy
Effective communication and computer skills
Education: Associates degree preferred
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Obtain specific registry competency and/or certifications if available within 3 years of hire. AIS coding class must be taken within 2 years of hire (Trauma Registrar Only)
