Description

The Trauma Registrar is responsible for complete and accurate abstracting of the medical records of all patients seen at Winchester Medical Center that fit the state trauma system criteria. This includes not only patients who are admitted, but also patients treated in the Emergency Room and any other outpatient area. The Trauma Registrar is responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the Registry and compiling and distributing trauma related statistical reports. Must maintain the required software and complete abstraction with 100% accuracy.

Job Requirements

Education
High School Diploma

Experience
Basic medical terminology required; two years of medical records experience preferred.

Certification & Licensures
Certification in Trauma Registry or completion of certification within one (1) year of hire required

Qualifications
Computer skills required in maintaining software program and submitting data to State. Data entry proficiency required; typing fifty (50) words per minute is preferred. Ability to abstract required trauma data from medical record. Must maintain confidentiality of patient and physician information. Professional appearance and ability to prioritize work with minimal direction.
