The Trauma Registrar is responsible for timely, accurate and comprehensive data abstraction, injury/procedural coding and data entry into the trauma registry in accordance with local, state and nationally defined inclusion criteria and guidelines.
A. Level of Education:
Minimum Requirement: Associate Degree in health-related field
Minimum Requirements: None required
§ Certified Specialist in Trauma Registries [CSTR]
§ American Trauma Society Registrars Course or equivalent provided by the State Trauma program
§ Association of Advancement of Automotive Medicines Injury Scaling Course (AIS)
§ Two-three year experience in a health care related field i.e., pre-hospital, medical records or medical coding
