The Trauma Registrar is responsible for the daily operations and maintenance of the trauma registry.

Job Responsibilities

The Trauma Registrar identifies all patients that meet trauma registry inclusion criteria, reviews pertinent aspects of the medical records, and completes the abstraction of data from all phases of the patient's care into the trauma registry. The Trauma Registrar must be timely, accurate and complete with all data entry. As part of the trauma team, the Trauma Registrar is key to the identification, documentation and reporting of delays in care, complications, disease specific quality indicators and process improvement opportunities. The Trauma Registrar is responsible for the generation of reports, patient care summaries, and statistical information to support the trauma performance improvement and patient safety program, injury prevention activities, and the trauma research program. The Trauma Registrar assists the medical team in the provision of direct patient care to patients in the outpatient trauma clinic. As a vital member of the trauma service, the Trauma Registrar maintains effective working relationships with patients, families, physicians, nursing and ancillary staff, all departments within the hospital, and community partners.
